These are very sensitively and beautifully written books about Noel Proctor and his loving family, and his career which culminated as Chaplain of HMP Strangeways. In fact, both books cover his life until his retirement. He came from a tough upbringing in Belfast and worked hard in order to be able follow his calling to be a Christian minister and evangelist. There were sad and challenging times, but also times of great blessing by God.Noel loved God, and he really cared about everyone, helping and working beyond the norm. God blessed his loving and caring heart by opening the hearts of men in prison, many of whom chose to follow Jesus and were drastically changed. Christian meetings in prison became incredibly well attended, and the love of God was being spread around. There is a short video clip of Noel on You tube, where a comment has been written about Noel: "Top bloke Rev." That is quite a compliment.I have found it difficult to put this book down, and am reading it again. On many occasions I am very moved through this testimony of his life. This is a very touching book, which I thoroughly recommend.

I had heard Noel preach at my church and his book was mentioned. I went straight away and ordered it and when it came I found it very difficult to put it down - it truly is an inspirational book, what a man he is and how brave is his wife and their three girls! I laughed and I cried with them all. I highly recommend this book to everybody.

Excellent book. Rev Noël Proctor was our local Church Vicar when I was a small child but was an inspiration to me then and re-reading this book invigorated me again.

I find this book very moving and powerful and have read and re-read it. Noel Proctor has a gift for communicating, sharing and understanding;seeing the person behind the crime, yet not forgetting the victims too. I am not sure quite why I have returned to this book so many times. It is simply written but contains a memorable story.
