A personal retreat based on St. Therese of Lisieux. A wondrous distillation of the teachings of St. Th r se of Lisieux on God's love and on confidence in Him; on humility, peace, and charity; on the Cross; and on abandonment to Providence. Learn to rest in God amid troubles, living joyfully with Him always.

"A Theresian classic that profoundly and beautifully reveals God's deep personal love for each of us and correspondingly awakens in us a burning love for Him. If you want to grow in love of God, this book is a must." -- Fr. Benedict Groeschel "Personal Endorsement""Devotees of St. Th r se will be delighted with this book, but there is something in it for all who seek holiness, the perfection of love." -- Fr. Kilian Healy, O.Carm., "Awakening Your Soul to the Presence of God" "Personal Endorsement"

This book is a gem. There are many books around which seek to set before us and explain the Little Way of St. Therese, but I haven't yet found one that can match this one. Fr. D'Elbee sets forth this spirituality in a very practical and appealing way. Everyone I have ever loaned this book to (or given a copy to) has given a very positive opinion on it. It really is a beautiful and inspiring read.

I have to say I found this book a great disappointment. I expected it to be a planned out retreat based firmly on the teachings of St Therese, but it is not that at all.It is a set of retreat addresses from the 1970s, with some references to Therese and the Little Way, but you have to search for them. From the title I expected something that would take her teachings and explore them in detail, but this is not the case. However, if you want a devotional book, not exclusively on Therese, you may like this.

This is a book that requires a lot of quiet reading and meditating on - I am nowhere near finishing it - but from what I have read and meditated on so far it is a beautiful book which I would recommend to anyone wishing to do a personal retreat.

Not as closely linked to St Therese as I'd hoped and I hate that he invariably refers to her as "little Therese" but a good book nevertheless.
